Serving the Local Community

My name is Rebecca Conklin Kleiboemer, and I am grateful to have been elected to Whitehouse Village Council in the Nov. 3, 2015, general election. Thank you for your support!

Whitehouse must strike that perfect balance between progressive development and careful preservation. We want to thrive and have an adventurous future, but we don't want to forget who we are or abandon the spirit of community that makes this area such a wonderful place to live.

This is a critical time for our village. We are only a few hundred more residents away from receiving a city designation from the U.S. Census. The needs of our community are reflecting changes in the economy, in education, and in society.

Yet we remain a close-knit community, a "small town" with long traditions and keen awareness of our history. Our neighbors are friendly and helpful, our businesses are personal, and our mix of town and country living is attracting more and more people as visitors and as residents.

We must work together. We must be wary of self-serving agendas, and we must seek out ways to maximize our public services for all the people who call Whitehouse home.

As a village council member, I will endeavor to:
  • Encourage public participation in the process
  • Engage in clear and open communication
  • Collaborate and compromise with colleagues
  • Work amicably with the administration
  • Promote policies that benefit local economic development
  • Support village employees fairly
  • Improve public spaces for community use

I am dedicated, professional, and hard-working. I've spent my career in the communications industry, and I can help address a common concern among residents that information about village business needs to be accessible and transparent. I patronize local businesses, serve in local organizations, and attend and help organize local events and activities. I love living in Whitehouse!
